Don’t let the weekend become your WEAK END.

Don’t undo a weeks worth of hard work during a two day weekend! Just because it’s the weekend doesn’t mean you need to go off the diet and exercise! You need to treat Saturday and Sunday just like the rest of the week. Since I’m sitting in on a Friday night I thought it was the perfect time to talk about the weekend and still crushing your goals!

Most people would use it as an excuse to eat whatever they want and be lazy! You’re really committed to sticking to it Monday-Friday then falling off the wagon on the weekend. When we think of weekends, we think of going out with friends and having endless drinks and junk food to relax from the work week, but then guess’re back to square one!


I used to be so guilty of this! “Time to binge eat” I would say! Well, if you’ve followed me from day one, you see where binge eating got me! I still enjoy nights out, don’t get me wrong, I’m just more conscious about my decisions!  When ordering out, I usually get a salad or a meat with steamed veggies! (Always ask, most likely the restaurants have that option.) Alcohol is sort of tricky! You don’t want to drink your calories but you still want to enjoy a drink to unwind from work. I usually do a glass of dry red wine or a flavored vodka with water then bring my own water enhancer which is zero calories such as Mio’s or Crystal Light. Yes I pull it out of my purse! No shame!

Went to an early dinner with friends after work tonight and still enjoyed myself! See it can be done! Had a glass of Merlot and a nice grilled chicken salad! How can you not want to eat something that looks that good?! Limited myself to one glass of wine and made sure I had lots of water to follow! Yes it can be a hard decision at times. Do you want to satisfy yourself forever with your good decisions or only the next 30 minutes with a bad decision? I’m sure you just rolled your eyes and thought, live a little Brittany. I did! Still do, just not as often. I enjoy life much more now with making these better decisions that make me feel good rather than making a bad one and regretting it right after.

Tips to stay on track!

  • Get yourself into the mindset of consistency
  • Drink your water
  • Order smart if eating out
  • Have healthy snacks on hand (I always carry almonds on me)
  • Plan your meals just as you would for Monday-Friday
  • Don’t skip a meal
  • Still log your food ( I use My Fitnesspal)
  • Don’t miss your workout

Don’t let one setback keep you from working toward your goals. Slip ups can happen, but don’t have the mindset to throw in the towel if you screwed up one meal. Don’t wait until Monday morning to start over. Start right then and there and make sure the next meal you have is a healthy one!
